Any contractors conducting work within the City of Hannibal are required to obtain a Contractor’s License with the City of Hannibal. The application will need to be submitted to the Clerk’s office for approval before any work can be performed. If you are doing electrical or plumbing work, you will need to take the electrical and/or plumbing exam with the Building Inspector’s office, before obtaining the license. If you have already passed an electrical or plumbing exam in Missouri & can show proof of that license/certificate being current, then we will allow you to bypass our testing. You won’t be allowed to perform any electrical or plumbing work without being certified. If you have employees, we will need a copy of your current workman’s compensation insurance certificate.  If you have any questions regarding obtaining your contractor’s license, you can contact the City Clerk’s Office.

If you are a contractor that is hired by the City of Hannibal, you are required to obtain a Contractor’s License as well, if you don’t already have one that is up to date and current, you will need to fill out the application and submit it to the Clerk’s office.
