The Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department is hiring a Parks Maintenance I Worker. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Usual duty hours are 8 hour shifts on weekdays, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The position is responsible for assisting in the broad upkeep of 30+ city parks and recreational facilities, covering building and structural repairs, restroom and pool maintenance, fountain care, and vandalism repair. Duties extend to riverfront floodwall landscaping and flood cleanup, boat harbor upkeep, and general park maintenance. The position also may assist the Street Department with tasks like snow plowing and asphalting.

Job qualifications:
High school or GED completion is required
Valid driver's license required
Training in building trades, mechanics, small engine repair, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and landscaping is preferred
Safe driving training is preferred

Candidates must be able to pass a background check (no felony convictions) and a pre-employment drug test.
