City of Hannibal Requirements

Affidavit of Gross Receipts Form (for any business selling retail/merchandise)

Business License Application & Fire Inspection (for any business with a physical location / selling food & drinks / mobile units, etc. )

-If you are unsure that you need a fire inspection or building inspection, please call the building inspectors office to find out. The number is located inside the packet on the inspection page. However, if you have a physical location, sell food/drinks, have a mobile unit, etc. inside the city limits of Hannibal. you will be required to get an inspection. Your inspection will need to be completed before we can issue the license to you.

City of Hannibal Requirements for Contractors

Any contractors conducting work within the City of Hannibal are required to obtain a Contractor's License with the City of Hannibal. The application will need to be submitted to the Clerk's office for approval before any work can be performed.

  -If you are doing electrical or plumbing work, you will need to take the electrical and/or plumbing exam with the Building Inspector's office, before obtaining the license. 

  -If you have employees we will need a copy of your current workman's comp. insurance certificate.

  -Any and all contractors that are hired by the City of Hannibal are required to obtain a Contractor's License as well. If you don't already have one that is up to date and current, you will need to fill out the application and submit it to the Clerk's office.
